These are the fields for Ad Number Definition window.
Active. The ad is available for use and insertion orders can be associated with this ad number and saved.
Hold. Do not allow insertions to be entered for this ad. Use this status if the ad is not yet ready to use to prevent insertions being placed against the ad number.
Suspended. Do not allow additional activity to be entered for this ad. The suspended ad may be changed back to active status any time, but until then, all ad number records and activity listings throughout the system indicate the ad status as suspended and it may not be used for ad/traffic maintenance.
Delete. You may only delete an ad that has never been used. Once a buy has been made against the ad number, you cannot delete it. The record should not appear on any listings, reports, or inquiries. Deleted Ad Number records may not be restored to active status.
The text description of the ad, usually the headline, up to two lines of 20 characters each.
For traditional Print, when working with direct mail or newspaper inserts, or door drop items, you may specify a zip code type. This is created in Media Accounting | Database, or by clicking the <Zip Code Type Definition> button at the top of the window. When you complete the definition, and click OK, the Previous Arrow icon returns you to this detail window.
To associate this ad number with a particular product in Production, key the Production product number.
To associate this ad number with a particular job in Production, key the Production job number.
Space Code/Columns/Quantity/Unit
Identify the size of the ad using one or more of these fields.
Space Code. Must be a code defined in Space Code Definition.
Column. The number of columns the ad covers. Requires a Unit setting of Depth or else requires both Quantity and Unit.
Quantity. Indicates the quantity of the space code or unit (lines or inches) being bought. Requires Space Code or Unit.
Unit. Requires Quantity unless unit is Depth. Then Columns are required and Quantity must be blank.
Lines. The publication sells space in lines.
Inches. The publication sells space in column inches.
Depth. When an insertion is ordered for a full depth ad, the Print Buy module checks Common Vendor to determine the full depth quantity. See the documentation for Print Buy for more information on use of this variable.
Optional. Key the first and/or last day this ad number can be used. An insertion outside this date range cannot be saved with this ad number. However, you may change the date range here to include the insertion date, then assign the ad number to the insertion. Monthly insertion dates are considered to be the first of the month when matching to these dates.
The name of the agency staff person who handles insertion orders prints at bottom of the insertion order, to save time in signing each order by hand.
Use this field to key additional information to print on the insertion order under the title "Space Description."
