Makegood - Create

This option allows you to create makegoods. Makegoods begin with units that you mark as missed in this option. A missed unit must have a makegood scheduled to make up for the GRPs not achieved. A regular unit, ADU (audience deficiency unit), bonus, and a makegood, can all be missed and made good.

Preempts are not missed units. If you designate the unit as preempted on the Buy Module Worksheet, then you cannot create a makegood for the unit. A preempted unit is a type of missed unit that will never be made good. Refer to Worksheet Unit Data Columns for details on preempt units.

Note:  A matched unit cannot be missed.

To miss unit(s) and create one or more makegoods for the missed unit, these are the steps:

1. Highlight one or more units then either click the Makegood Create function or right click to display a dropdown of all functions.

• Multiple units must be in the same network/package.

• These units cannot be preempted, missed or matched units.

• There may be up to three sets of rotation days and start/end time per unit. You may change any rotation/times before saving the makegood.

• If the estimated data stream for the package is different from the program selected for a makegood, you will receive a warning and you may cancel or continue. The package estimated data stream will be assigned to the makegood unit.

1. If you notice a Missed Unit on the list that does not belong there, click the Remove checkbox then click the Remove icon to update the list.

2. Click the Copy icon to copy all the missed unit information to one or more new Makegoods. These new Makegood Units will display in the Makegood Units rows below the Missed Units rows.

3. Ensure that each makegood has a product assigned, else a red warning box will pop up when you try to exit this Makegood window and the makegood has no product.

4. Edit fields as needed to define the new makegood units, their gross cost, start/end time, etc. Some fields are display only. Scroll across to access more fields to define this makegood, including the Bookend and Mirror fields. These codes do not display on the Buy Module worksheet, however, the makegood is still a MG.

5. Add a comment to Makegoods:

a.  Click the select box for those makegoods to receive this comment.

b.  Type a Makegood Comment in the box at the top of the window to describe one or more of the makegoods.

c.  Click <Apply> to add the comments to just these units.  An X displays in the C (Comment) column.

2. If you selected missed units that were splits with two or more products,  click <Splits> to edit the percentages, if needed. Refer to Makegood for Product Splits for details.
