To use the Trending Tab:
If multiple Estimated Books are included with the worksheet, you can click the Est. Book drop down list and select one of the available estimated books.
Select the mode by clicking one either the Trending or Estimating radio buttons in the upper right of the window: The Trending mode displays drop-down lists for actual books, the Estimating mode displays Share and PVT book drop down lists.
In the Trending mode, use the Actual Book drop down lists to select one or more actual books to be used in retrieving statistics. In the Estimating mode, use the Share and PVT drop down lists to select the books to use to calculate ratings.
If you want to look at another demographic, select the Demographic drop down list and choose one of the available demographic codes.
When you are working a TV buy, the Demographic section contains a text box and a button titled Change PVT that allows you to change all the PVT figures in the Worksheet column. To do so, just enter a new PVT figure in the text box and click the Change PVT button.
If you want to look at a different day/time pattern, you can do one of following:
You can click the Next icon adjacent to the Day/Time drop down list. When you do so, the next day/time pattern code on the Day/Time list is selected, the ratings are retrieved, and the data on the screen is automatically updated.
You can click the Day/Time drop down list and select any one of the day/time pattern codes on the list. To retrieve the associated ratings and update the data on the screen, you must click the Retrieve Ratings button.
You can add a day/time pattern that is not on the worksheet by clicking the Add icon next to the Day/Time drop down list. See Adding a Day/Time for instructions.
When you are working a TV buy, a Break Avg drop down list appears on the Trending tab that will allow you to incorporate Break Average data when calculating your statistics.
To display all stations in the market, even if they are not on the worksheet, click the Include All Stations in Market check box to display a check.
When you are working a TV buy and you select the All Stations in Market check box, local cable networks will also be included in the display. If you don't wish to see local cable networks in the display, you can select the Exclude Cable check box.
Click <Retrieve Ratings> to retrieve the ratings and, if selected, the additional stations/networks.
If you are using Trending mode, you can Click <Save/Load> to save the selected rating books used for trending so that you can use them again in the future. Once saved, these rating books are saved for the specific worksheet. Books can be saved for proposed and active buys.
To load these books in the future, hold down the [Ctrl] key as you click <Save/Load>
If you are using Estimating mode and working a proposed or active buy, you can click <Override> to change the rating book projection entered on the Start Up Tab.
Once the ratings are retrieved, you'll focus your attention on the Detail section of the Trending tab.
Click one of the following buttons to perform the specified task:
Click <Add to Worksheet> to add information keyed on the trending tab.
Click <Update Worksheet> to update the worksheet with any changes.
Click <Reload> to overwrite any changes on this window with the data from the worksheet.
Click <Retrieve Ratings> to retrieve ratings and populate the worksheet with trending statistics. This function will overwrite existing ratings on a buy line.
Click <Clear Trending> to clear all changes and the ratings retrieved on this tab.
Click <Export> to display the Download Window where you open or save the file to a CSV. This function allows users to capture trends for review at the time of the buy.
When Trending Books are saved in a proposed buy, they do not transfer to an active buy. Rating books that are saved in the Trending tab are also available in the Estimating Tab (and vice versa). When using the <Override> option, the Retrieve Ratings function will now use the updated books for ratings projections.
