Introduction to Credit Billing

During the client billing process, all related entries are posted to the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers. If you realize that the charges were billed by mistake, the Credit Billing options provide you with a means of canceling these entries, crediting the A/R account and setting the charges back to inventory. Once the charges are back into inventory they may be handled in any manner you wish. This could include rebilling the charges, transferring them to another job, or writing them off. In addition to the regular transaction register, the credit process also generates credit invoices that may be used for internal purposes or for sending to the client, if the client already paid the invoice.
