Space Description Definition

Use this option to establish codes for space descriptions to be used throughout the PRINT system. These codes define the size, shape, color and other characteristics for all advertising bought by "space definition." These codes must be defined before contracts, ad numbers or insertions can be entered into the PRINT system. If you do not have authority to this option, you may select Space Description Inquiry to view the space descriptions.

To define space descriptions:

1. Select Admin|Space Description Definition.

2. Click the Add icon one or more times to add one or more blank rows.

3. For each space description being defined, key the Space Description Code and Space Description Name.

4. In the Factor column, key as a decimal the page factor which the space description represents. The page factor is used in contract analysis to determine how much space to attribute to the contract. If a page factor is needed to convert a space code to pages, but no factor exists here for that space code, then zero contribution to the contract will be recorded. 5. Click the Save icon to save the space descriptions and return to the previous page.

To remove a space description so that it is no longer available for use in PRINT:

1. Follow the first three steps above, then click the check box to the left of each space description to be removed.

2. Click the Remove icon .

3. Click the Save icon to save the change and return to the previous page.
