To allocate products within the Buy Module by % of units or % of impressions using the Allocate Product function, consider these features/rules. After you review these, refer to Product Allocation - Steps to Allocate Products.
Designating units to be allocated is based on the filtering and sorting of your worksheet. This allows you to have complete control over the order the units are scheduled and what units are included in the allocation. Highlighting rows has no affect on allocation.
You can define the rotation order in which products are assigned and target % for each product.
Products are assigned beginning with the first unit of the worksheet, based on the rotation order you have assigned the products.
Products will be allocated until the basis for allocation (units or impressions) is as close as possible to the target % without exceeding the target %.
Any units that, if assigned a product, would cause products to exceed their target %, are assigned to <blank> product.
Units that are ineligible for allocation (cannot change the product)
Billed
Collected for billing (PBA=Y)
Matched
Have the product lock set to Yes,
Have an ISCI assigned, or
Have more than one product (splits) currently assigned.
Ineligible units, even though they won’t have product changes, may be considered in reaching the target % (if you select .
You may choose to include or exclude zero-dollar or zero-impression units in the allocation.
Preempted and missed units are excluded from consideration.
Although allocation is normally done for future units, you can include units that have an air date prior to the current date.
If units currently have an assigned product, that product will be overridden.
When allocating by % of impressions, the desired target demo(s) must be in the estimate/client demo list.
This allocation feature is interactive. You can evaluate the results and make adjustments prior to updating the worksheet.
