Hierarchical Change

Profile options in Broadcast follow the hierarchical change rule. This means that higher level profiles set the standards and default values for the lower levels of the hierarchy. If the standards are the same throughout the company/office (or whatever the highest level is for the profile), you do not need to define any lower level profiles. However, to define any lower level differently, you must define all intervening levels. For instance, to accept the company/office settings at the client level, but define different settings at the product level, you must define and save a client level profile.

When any change is made to a higher level profile, it is carried down throughout the hierarchy as long as the setting on the next lower level was the same before the change. If the existing setting is different at any level, no changes are made to that level or any lower levels.

From highest to lowest, the hierarchy is Company, Office, Media, Client, Product or Product Split, Estimate.
