Break Average

Break Average is usually abbreviated as BA or Brk Avg on screens and reports in the Broadcast application.

Break average indicates whether quarter hours preceding and following the time period are included when calculating estimated, pre-post or achieved audience statistics.

The Break Average codes are as follows

CODE	Description
A	After	Include the quarter hour following the actual time period as well as the actual time period.
B	Both	Include both the prior and following quarter hours as well as the actual time period.
P	Prior	Include the prior quarter hour as well as the actual time period.

If you leave the Break Average field blank, there will be no break averaging and the statistics will only include the actual quarter hour.
