Defaults on Timesheets

Default rows and codes that appear on a timesheet may originate in several ways.

Default rows:

Default Tran codes:

If you leave the Tran code blank on a row and save the timesheet, a Tran code is automatically retrieved for the row if a default has been defined. The first default that can be found is retrieved, searching in this order:

  1. Default Tran code defined for the client in Client Profile Definition in Production.

  2. Default Tran code defined for the employee in Employee Profile Maintenance in the Central Data Base.

  3. Default Tran code defined in Standards and Defaults for the company/office.

If no default is found, an error displays and you must key a Tran code.

Default Work codes:

If you leave the Work code blank on a row and save the timesheet, a Work code is automatically retrieved for the row if a default has been defined. The first default that can be found is retrieved, searching in this order:

  1. Default Work code defined for the employee in Employee Profile Maintenance in Central Data Base.

  2. If the Job Type for the job only has only one Work code defined for the Tran code on the row, that Work code is retrieved. (Job Types are defined in the Production Billing Profile)

If no default is found, an error displays and you must key a Work code.

Job Components

The list of Job Components that may be entered for a specific job on the timesheet is limited to the job components defined for the Job in Job Definition in Production. A Job Component may be included on a row that is automatically created when a job task is assigned to you in Workflow.
